Dear Bro and Sis Brooks,
Hi, I'm Sister Oborn and your son is serving in our ward! I have decided that I am going to start to write the parents of the missionaries in our ward anytime they come to our house. I remember my mother-in-law loved to hear from ward members cause her son's letters were never long enough!
I wanted to write and tell you how impressed my husband and I have been with your son! He arrived in this area about the same time we did. We moved from Utah in August to go to law school and he has served in our ward since then! The ward covers a pretty big area but we were blessed to live in an apartment complex next to your son's apartment. Over the last 5 months we have had him in our home a number of times. We've had them for dinner, played games during a blizzard, shared dessert, been taught lessons and so on. It has been such a blessing to have the missionaries in our home, they have reminded us the we should be thinking of the Savior all day.
Elder Brooks is a very mature, kind and confident missionary. He is a very focused and good missionary! We have seen him with several different companions; we saw him have great patience with a difficult companion and now we see him teaching Elder Garner. We think that he sets a great example for Elder Garner.
As he might have mentioned I have decided that Elder Brooks and my sister would make a great couple! When I told him about her and showed him pictures I was very impressed when he said that he still had three months left. He is focused and is doing a good job of finishing till the end! But I'm keeping my fingers crossed; I think he'd make a great brother-in-law!
Know that you can be very proud of your son and the work he is accomplishing out here in Minnesota! He has blessed our lives and many of the lives of those in our ward. Thank you for raise a good son!
Sincerely,
Sister Oborn
