Missions Aren't For Sissies!

Things are going grizz-ate! (That’s great)
So mission tour was great with Elder Hinckley. I got to talk to him for a second uno-y-uno about Habtamu and his conversion story. And I got to shake his hand. haha. Man, I'm missing AZ weather! This week, the highs are going to be in the 40's and 50's with rain. bleh.

I just know I'm going to have to beat all the boys off of Madison when I get home. Haha that'll be fun. It's funny cause a lady in our ward is having problems with her teenage daughter who is 14. She apologized when we went over cause she was acting up. I told her, eh, it's alright, I know what it's like, my sister went through a phase like that, it just takes patience. I don't think she believed me though haha.

Good job on the 4 pounds! I've been trying to lose some excess and it ain’t easy! I’m still hanging around 185. The tough part is getting up to exercise. I've been eating really well, and go most of the days without sweets or candy or cake. That helps!

No, it's true. Missions aren't for sissies! I don't say that to boost myself up, because sometimes I don't know how I get through things. I know that the only way is through the Lord. As of my strength I am weak. But wow I'm thankful for every trial I have, because I am more and more pleased with who the Lord is helping me to become.

GASP! No [Halloween] decorations?!?! Momma, you're slackin! Well, the only thing that I'm going to ask is if you send candy, don't overdo it haha. I'm only allowing myself to eat sweets one day out of the week. But some things that I will ask for is my jump rope, and if you can find some, some soul/ gospel songs. How do I describe them? Perhaps the songs that you would picture being sung in an evangelical church or on ‘Sister Act’ or something haha. I love those songs. We sung one my junior year in choir and I loved that song. It was called "The Lord Will Make a Way." But I think that's all I need. My socks are getting a little thread bare on the heels, but I'm determined to make them last. Nothing a needle and thread can't fix! Besides, it'll be cold soon, and I'll whip out the heavy duty socks. So don't send my any! :) Seriously.

Also, I'm looking for cool ways to mark my scriptures, so if you find any, let me know!

Glad to hear all is well. Everything is going great here, I have nothing to complain about.

Love
ELDER BROOKS
