Whew! You're telling me! I understand how Lehi felt after becoming overpowered by the Spirit and then casting himself on his bed! That's precisely what I have done the last few nights. Just been exhausted!
So the baptism did not go through, but not for any bad reasons, we just weren't able to teach Habtamu enough that week to finish off the lessons, so we postponed it a week. We'll need to teach him at least 2 times this week to solidify and set the baptism in stone. He is so prepared. Humble and willing to follow the word of God. It was so good to hear his testimony again last night, that he believed that these things were true and that it was the way of God and would bring him blessings. So this Saturday is the big day!
We met another lady earlier this week that wanted to be baptized, so we talked to her about it, and invited her to conference. We haven't been able to get a hold of her since. We're hoping that she just lost her phone or something, because she seemed really solid too. We'll just have to see about that.
Wow, I can't believe that the 'burb' is gone! That’s so crazy! Well, I suppose that I won't have to be driving the beast around when I get back!
So many good talks in conference! My personal favorite was Richard G. Scott's about building character and integrity. Lots of stuff I needed to hear. And wow, I swear that he must have packed on some pounds!!!
Another talk that particularly stood out to me was that of Larry R. Lawrence. He talked about all the dangers and things of parenting and good and not so good things to let your children do. It was almost comical because I would have sworn he was describing you two to the tee! Curfew at ten, no sleep overs, staying up until we got home, and a few other things. I, like Nephi of old, can say that I too have been born of goodly parents who love the Lord. I'm really grateful that you raised me the way you did, because that's what got me where I am and made me who I am. So thank you for everything that you've done for me! Sorry it's taken me 21 years and a mission to be so appreciative!
Also, it was a bitter sweet moment realizing that that was my last conference on my mission...
So I have established and re-established some goals that I want to achieve. Two of which are writing in my journal every day, and memorizing scriptures every day. When I memorized scriptures every day, after a few months, I could really notice an improvement in my memory! Not to mention my mind just felt sharper. So I'm going to start doing that again.
Everything is going well! I feel healthy, I've been working out every day and staying away from almost all junk food except one day a week, and I'm seeing some good results.
After conference, I'm ready to turn this city upside-down to find those people who are going to listen.
Love you all
