So fun stuff this week! On Monday, we went to the State Fair, wow, that place was crazy! I forgot to bring my device that allows me to upload pictures, so I'll try to remember next week. We both bought some crazy good corn dogs. They were 2 feet long!!!! Whoa, it was a lot of corn dog, I almost couldn't finish it! I've probably gained about 5 pounds this last week with all the cake, junk food, and candy that I've been eating... Whew. Weighed in at 193 this morning! Yikes!

So two families had me over for my birthday, the Swenson’s and the Iverson’s. The Iverson’s just moved in, I really like them. Brother Iverson taught at the MTC, about the time that I was there. Who knows, maybe I saw him. But funny story, I actually DID kiss my LeBraun’s when I got them hahaha. I love those shoes! I loved the whole package!

Well, today is the day! Vikings vs. the Broncos. Whoa, that's weird. I seem to be sporting my orange tie. Wow, also a coincidence, it has blue and white stripes on it! It's almost like those are the colors for a sports team that I probably really like.... Well, I like the tie, so I guess I'll wear it to the game! ;D (His Dad has been a Viking's fan since childhood.)
Well, I haven't still thought about going home yet. But I'm sure that it's something that president starts asking you about when you have about 6 months left. He'll eventually ask me to look at colleges I'm sure. But Elder Birkel went home yesterday... That's so weird...
So we had an awesome lesson with Jason and Anna last night! We taught them about scripture study, prayer and the Sabbath day. (Those are the three things people especially need to do to know that the church is true.) They read and pray, though, they don't end it in Christ's name, usually just an "amen." And they had concerns about coming to church. So we taught them about the "formula" of prayer, so hopefully they'll apply that. Then we talked to them about keeping the Sabbath day holy. We really got down deep into their concerns about why they feel uncomfortable coming to church. They said that they wouldn't feel quite honest, since it's not something they believe yet, and a few things along those lines. So we discussed it, and solved some of it, but I don't feel like we 100% solved the concern. But, we are going to have dinner at the Bingham’s house next lesson, so that way we can get them to a member's home! That is going to do A LOT! They are so cool though, they've had some great spiritual experiences as far as protection goes, like where they get a thought and obey it, and they didn't die. Really great stuff, the Spirit was really strong last night. They are a tough nut to crack though. I did tell them that coming to church is one way "to test the fruit" to see if these things are good. So they know they'll have to go eventually.
That's about it for the work right now, we're really just still looking for more people to teach. No new investigators yet... And random, but Elder Fonua is a zone leader now! Man. That's crazy.
Well I love you all!
ELDER BROOKS
