Well, once again, great to hear that everyone is doing alright! That's so cool that you got to hear from Elder Anderson, I'm so jealous! Although, in October, we get to hear from Elder Hinckley, President Hinckley’s son! That's pretty cool, huh? Also, on September 2nd, everyone here in the cities gets to go to a Vikings game! Whoo!! And they play the Broncos! Go Broncos! Eh, it's pre-season, but I can't complain. Then later this week, the Minnesota State Fair is going on right down the street from our apartment, so that's pretty big news. We got free tickets, so we are going to go next week on Monday.
It's definitely a small world, I met Wayne Pomeroy’s niece the other day. She and her husband just moved into the ward! I think her name is Hailey Bingham. But that was cool to meet someone that knew someone.
Hey, if you haven't sent my package yet, I was wondering if you could throw some socks in there for me. All mine are thrashed! Athletic socks that is. Maybe 2 pair of the low cut and 2 pair of the ankle to wear with my Lebraun’s. If the package is off already, I'll just buy them out here. Maybe I'll do that anyways. Guess it'd be easier.
So we've been able to meet twice with Jason and Anna this week!! They are so AWESOME!!! They love having us over and feeding us, they were going to have us over tonight, but had to reschedule to Wednesday night. But the first time we taught them about the restoration, and the second time we went over some concerns that Jason had about receiving an answer. So getting to know his concerns were great! What I love about this whole thing is that we eat dinner, have a good time, but when it's lesson time, everyone is intent on learning. Jason really wanted to know how exactly his answer would come and how he could receive it. I told him that it comes with time, and as we keep God's commandments. (After all, that is how I gained my testimony, obedience!)
We didn't find any new people to teach, but with 6 new families that moved into our ward this last week, there'll be a ton of friendshipping and member referrals going on, we are so so so so exited! What a great time to be in St. Paul!
It was weird, I talked to Elder Birkel a few days ago, and he's going home in a week. He told me that I needed to start praying about what I need to do when I get home, because "it's about that time." Well that startled me.... So, I guess I'm going to start praying!
Other than that, I'm not sure what else is new! I don't particularly like the humidity, but what can you do? The work must go on!! One guy stereotyped us and razzed us cause we "voted for Sarah Palin.” Ha-ha that made me laugh. People and their crazy ideas! Oh, I did just finish reading through the Doctrine and Covenants all the way! That was cool! Now I'm working on finishing the Pearl of Great Price, then I'll move on to the Bible.
Maddie, good to hear you are having fun and staying out of trouble! I enjoyed the dances when I went. WAIT...... Are you-- no. You can't be! ... Are you dancing with-- with BOYS?!?!?! Ha-ha just had to razz ya! Work hard in school. You'll never regret it. I slacked, and believe me, I regret it!
Anyways, peace!
