The Best Is Yet To Come

Minnesota Momma
Well, this last week was a little slow... A ton of our lessons fell through, so we, Elder Barnes and I, did a lot of tracting, in the rain.

A little bit about Elder Barnes: He's from Draper Utah, he is a lacrosse player and played for the Utah Utes while he was in college. (Dad will appreciate that.) I love this kid because he is a way hard worker! The other day we came in for dinner, and after we ate, he was like, "are we going back out?" And I was like, "yeah, we still have like 40 minutes for dinner, you know?" And he said, "I know, but I mean, we could just go out and work..." So we did, haha. He's a hard worker, I feel like I'm just there for the role model, while he's figuring out what missionary work is. He's catching on very quickly, quicker than I ever did! So I'm looking forward to the next six weeks, although it's an added amount of stress to remember that he's watching me closely to see how missionary work is done.

We got to see Christina last night, she cooked us a huge meal! She is doing well, I left a spiritual thought with her from the Ensign article, "The Best Is Yet To Come" by Jeffrey R Holland. She loved it and said that it was exactly what she needed to hear and that every time she's struggling, we show up at her door and help her out. Wow, it really made me feel that I had done some good, and really recharged my spirits. We will now proceed to try and teach her weekly, and strengthen her testimony in the gospel.

Brad should be ready to go for baptism in the next week or so. It's getting closer. He called us this morning and wanted to see how we were doing and when we could come over next. He said he's doing good. I'm so proud of that guy, he is so awesome!

Anyhow, Give Brigham a huge ol' hug for me! I miss that kid!

Love
ELDER BROOKS
