Like Ammon . . . Boasting of God

Ahhh. Another good week in Thunda'-Bay. Brad? still on the straight and narrow. We'll be seeing him tomorrow. We went and saw Christina and her family on Saturday night. She's doing alright, but we'll have to straighten some things out, that's all. Other than that, she's doing great. We have Zone Conferences once a month, by the way.

Hey, I got to see the video of Maddie and the three other girls...haha didn't have any sound though, and that because these computers here do not have any speakers hooked up to them.

So Elder Sorenson and I have had so much success lately, it is truly because of the Lord. His hand is so evident here in Thunder Bay. So we are working with Brad. Our other investigators are Diane and Meagan Matthews, a part member family. Don, the father is a member, and a really good guy, though he's been less active for a while now. They came to church on Sunday. :) Then we have Sarah, Caleb, and D-something. Sarah and Caleb are a young couple, and D-something ( I can't remember her name at the moment) is Sarah's mom. They have a lot of questions about life, why it's hard, where do we go after, and how can we be clean from sin. They are awesome too! Then we are also working with a young couple Kody and Kara, who we talked to them about how they could quit smoking and be with their child forever. And there's more too!!

We are working with Lloyd DeMerchant, and his girlfriend, Sister Mori Robinson, a Less active. She loves the Church. Lloyd had a six year old daughter that was hit by a drunk driver and killed. He asked a Catholic priest what had happened to her and why that happened to her, and the priest didn't really answer his question and just said that that was the way it was. Years down the road, we meet him and Sister Robinson, and testify to him that his daughter is not in hell, and that he can be sealed to her for all time and eternity. The Holy Ghost bore witness to him that that is true, and he wants to continue learning. Lloyd has a real thirst for truth. He said he would do anything to be with Mori and his daughter forever. So we will continue teaching them.

The work is so good right now!! I know why Ammon had no problem boasting of God now.

That's the work. :)

The weather is great! Yesterday we went hiking, and it was a bit humid... well, VERY humid I should say. I have never sweat so much in my life from a hike... man. But other than that, hopefully it stays the same temperature, cause any hotter would be bad with the humidity.

Have you found an address for Nate by chance? I really want to get in touch with him.

That's awesome to hear about the temple (dedication of the Gila Valley Temple.) I definitely miss going to the temple.

Oh! Something really cool I've learned is how to really invite people to repent through commitments. I read 3rd Nephi 13-15 and there is a lot of "unless you repent" or "repent!" So now when I talk to people on the street, I try to commit them to do something, whether it be reading the Book of Mormon, checking out Mormon.org, or allowing us to come teach them more. I've had success in this in the fact that you can "weed people out" that aren't ready. It’s sweet.

Anyhow, gotta go!!!
Love, ELDER BROOKS
