If You're Bored, You're Boring

Well, it looks like Elder Fonua and I are parting ways. He is getting transferred to Shingle Creek, the heart of the cities, and I'm going to get Elder Sorensen. I don't think I've ever met him, so we'll see how this goes. But we'll have to drive down tomorrow and get all that Jazz done.

Something interesting I read this week was from M. Russell Ballard, he said, "Dull or slow days are for dull missionaries. Remember that sharp missionaries don't have any." After I read that, it clicked. The phrase so often heard in our home made complete and total sense. "If you're bored, you're boring." It was a major light bulb moment. I realized it could be applied to so many things in life. In missionary work, "If you have no work, you aren't working then." So that was cool to finally understand haha.

That's so good to hear that Danny is a DL! That's pretty sweet! I was actually hoping I'd train, (don't ask why) but I'm down for whatever! I have written Danny and David, but haven't gotten a response from them yet. If you get an opportunity, give them my best for sure.

Still low on investigator., Did I tell you that Herve found work in Toronto, and we won't be teaching him for at least two months??? MAN!!! We REALLY REALLY need people to teach. The hardcore finding starts on Friday when we get back into town. There is so much to do here in T-bay, and I feel ready with a new transfer to take it on!

By the way, Elder Birkel is an AP now!!! I KNEW he was going to be. He's such a great guy. If you don't remember, I spent 6 months working with Elder Birkel in St. Cloud, We got to be pretty good buddies.

Send my best to the Potter family too. I was just telling Elder Fonua how much I regretted not taking Bro. Potter up on helping him with plumbing. Decent money, and a worthwhile skill to be sure. Well, my lesson is learned for sure.

Love you all
ELDER BROOKS
