Oh yeah, things are pretty sweet up here in T-Bay. All of us Elders get along really well, so we are a tight little group. But anyways, because I'm so excited about it, I'm going to tell you about the work.
Christina is doing really well! She got interviewed on Wednesday by Elder Birkel, and we need to work with her on gaining a testimony of prophets, specifically Joseph Smith and Thomas Monson. And she'll have to speak with President for something, but I'm not worried. The baptism is this Saturday, and we're WAY exited, and I'm stressing, cause I'm just hoping she'll be ready by then... AHH!!! And we haven't started teaching her daughter, Alicia, but this Wednesday we will.
Herve did make it to church, the last 15 minutes. He got lost on the way, but he said since he told us he was going to be there, that he was going to get there, no matter how much time was left in church. So instead of bringing him into the last 15 minutes of elders’ quorum, we gave him a short tour around the chapel, and introduced him to a few people. On Friday we will be giving him a lesson in the chapel, with Brother Parr. We are so exited, Herve is an awesome guy. We learned a couple things about him, his wife is from Mexico, and doesn't like Mormons. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt though, cause I don't think she's ever met one. Herve is also a mason, which is kinda cool.
John and Tory are doing well, we will be teaching them again on Thursday and are looking forward to that. We love our investigators here, they are way awesome.
Elder Fonua and I still haven't done the gig yet, our guitar was taken by Elder Marsh when he was transferred. I guess we can just stick with the ukulele. But we'll figure it out. Lately we have been hanging flyers around town on these bulletin boards. We are also going to hit the college campus more often. We've got some finding ideas in line. Let me know if you hear or see any because I'm always looking for new ways to try things. You have to work hard AND smart!
So that's about all that's new, I think I'm going to try to make some funeral 'taters today, cause I've been havin’ a hankerin' for 'em. haha
Well, on Friday there was a ward talent show, and I signed up, and sang "This Time" on the guitar. (I don't know any hymns!) And then Elder Fonua, myself, and Louis, a kid from the ward, sang and rapped to hymn # 14, Did You Think To Pray. It was pretty sweet, and I'm sure it was the favorite act of the night.
I don't know what else has happened that's worth while noting... Elder Fonua and I are doing excellent, and are in good health and spirits.
Love you all,
ELDER BROOKS
