GOOD NEWS!

HEY! Good to hear from you, as always! Crazy to hear about the economy, I sure hope it gets better by the time I get off my mission. I'm really glad I don't have to worry about it right now. Man, dad, you get to go to a bunch of cool places like that! The Alger’s up in Virginia, they always go every couple of years, and they invited me to go with them next time they go. It would be a blast, that family is a lot of fun! How are they doing by the way?

HAHAHAHA Oh man, I can't believe that, that is DAVID TALKING!!! Working out?!?! Holy smokes! Man, I really miss him, he was a lot of fun to be around.

Boy, some houses are decked out in Christmas lights, but it still isn't home.  It's almost sub-par to the lights we see in Mesa. And for a weather report.... It's been snowing lightly for the last few days... It's been about 9 degrees at about 8 in the morning. COLD. But winter is definitely here. My boots are serving me really well. It's not really quite cold enough for them to be necessary; it's just that my shoes don't fit with 2 pairs of socks on!

Haha! I'm the sole survivor in the district that came out with me. There were 3 Elders with girls waiting, and they all got dear John-d... Yeah, actually, I just heard from Audri and Danny that Courtney is in another relationship... that's just crazy how things just happen while you’re gone. He is in the stage where he just wishes he knew if she was going to wait around or get hitched so he could move on either way. I think it's driving him a little crazy. I'm not worried though, he's a great missionary and I doubt it'll keep him from working effectively. Man, I can't wait to see everyone again, as trunky as that sounds. Actually I had the 1st really trunky dream of my mission . . . In it, I was waiting to get released. It was weird, but I'm not really trunky at all. :) That's really good to hear about Brig! Man, he is going to be so big when I get back! So grown up! Ah . . .

Well, for some big news..... ELDER PETERSON AND I SET 2 BAPTISMAL DATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOO HOOO!!! The 1st is Larry Fouts. I talked to him outside the library and everything is history from there he's had no serious hold ups, and we are talking to him tonight about the word of wisdom. He has committed to be baptized on December the 19th. :D

The other is a friend of Genie Floyds, a member that actually lived in Las Vegas for a while, though I'm not sure exactly where. Her name is Melissa. We were expecting to just read some scriptures with Genie (sp?) and Melissa just happened to be there and we taught her about the Plan of Salvation and she accepted the invitation to be baptized! She has committed to be baptized on December 26th! She is WAY solid, came to church yesterday and loved it! Plus she has a friend that is in the Gospel, and so there is a support system too. It's perfect! We are so excited, we will just have to help her to quit smoking, and she'll be ready to go!

So that's my good news. Also, the Elsberee’s should have a baptismal date by the end of this week, probably in January. Elder Peterson and I have been working harder than ever and enjoying it all the more. With the weather changing though, there will be less and less people out, so we are going to have to change our style of finding people to teach... time to get creative.... or tract haha.

Yes, I got the package and I put it up! I actually got a package from the Pecks so say thank you to them! I'll be sending my thanks as well, through a letter. Since the tree had nothing under it, I put the toothbrush and toothpaste the pecks sent me underneath it haha. Haven't used the big coat yet, not quite cold enough. I'd just fry.

Well that's all that's going on at the moment, and also, the Elsberee’s are going to try to find you on Facebook, mom, just thought I'd tell ya.

Love you all
ELDER BROOKS
