Well, All I can say for Cam is that he should continue going to mission prep class and to keep studying. Believe me, I wish I studied more. The scriptures talk about "watchmen on the tower." If I may, I will say that I am a watchman on this particular tower. Cam may wonder and say "I don't see the point in studying that much." Well, he may not see the point in studying that much. He can't quite see what I can see. I've been through that phase, just as you have, and can "see" why. There’s a good talk on that by John Bytheway called righteous warriors, if you're interested.
By the way, nice picture of Cam!!! (This is the picture he sent in with his missionary application . . . Just waiting for him to meet with the Stake President!) I should be sending the package home with my watch, ipod, some letters, even a cd from a missionary's band back home, which, obviously, I can't listen to, and I'm going to send cam a sweet tie. Or, what I think is a sweet tie anyways. He's got to start building up that collection! But other than that, I might send home a few other odds and ends that I won't need that are just taking up space and weight in my suitcase! To answer your questions...
I usually get just a little more mail than my companions (except for Elder Wardle) mostly cause I try to write more people. Umm, yeah I'd say most mail missionaries receive is from mail. Me, personally, I'd never turn down a mailed letter from the family! I mean, c'mon, isn't the mail the highlight of a missionary's day? ;) Yeah, actually, I wouldn't mind hearing from some of the families in the ward! Actually, Sister Potter has written me twice now, updating me on the whole Potter family, and including some uplifting missionary stories. I always enjoy things like that. Umm, I'm not sure how the economy here in St. Cloud is doing. Up in Virginia, a TON of people were out of jobs.
OH!! I don't think I told you!!! A couple weeks ago, we had mission tour, which is where we had about half the mission get together and hold a big conference, and Elder Packer was there!! (Keep in mind, it's not PRESIDENT Packer, it's Elder Packer of the Seventies, President Packer's son.) It was way cool though, he explained a lot of things about the spirit that really bolstered my understanding and answered many, many of my questions.
Well, I'm getting nervous!! Transfer calls are tomorrow, and President just called two additional assistants, which means there are two vacant zone leader spots, plus however many zone leaders get released this transfer. Haha I’m only nervous cause Elder Daily keeps telling me I'm going to be a zone leader, but I don't think so, at least not yet.
Wow, so wierd that Katie Wray is getting married... well, guess that's not too much of a surprise. Didn't think she'd last very long. Danae too huh? Is that why cam is so ho-hum?? ;) Just kiddin!! Cameron, tell me, man to man, "What the deal is?" Have you prayed about serving a mission? Cause if you haven't, you should. Don't go on a mission cause mom and dad want you to, or cause you think it's expected. Do it because it's what you want to do. I promise you, missions are the best experiences of your life. Sure, they're tough, but there is PLENTY of fun to be had along the way, and the spiritual and personal progress that you make out here is unparalleled!!! I love ya man!
Oh, I didn't know that Maddie was taking a dance class! Maybe I missed that... Anyways, yeah, it's a shame Umbrianna is gone, she was a lot of fun! Wonder how she's doin.... Tell Maddie good luck for me, and that that is awesome that she is trying out!!
Yeah, it turns out the T-rex was just a big mold of the real thing. Haha we were all really disappointed!!! There was a fun part of that museum though, it was like one of those "I spy" books, only there were rooms that you did it in! That was the only redeeming quality of the museum. I'll send some pictures later, I forgot my camera at home!! Sorry!
Well, that's about it for now... Love ya all!
