SNOWING IN MINNESOTA!!

HAHAHA…
HOLY CRAP!! What happened to the Dial boys?!?! I miss those guys! I can't believe how old we are all getting! I almost didn't recognize them! And that video of Cameron where he kept walking in front of the camera almost had me in tears, haha! Aww man, that is so crazy! Tell those Dials hi for me! It looks like I'm missing out on a lot of fun with the trip to Utah! Seeing the video makes me realize how disfunctional/wierd my family is, but that's why it's so awesome!

So yes, as I'm sure you've heard, we have totally bypassed fall and skipped straight to winter. It's snowed on Friday, almost melted on Saturday and Sunday, and then it's been snowing all day today. I found out quickly that the leather gloves I own weren't going to cut it if I was going to ride a bike everywhere. I bought some deerskin gloves that keep my hands a little warmer, but I'm going to have to buy some new heavy duty gloves when winter really hits. It's probably 30 degrees outside right now, and still snowing. Ugh. It's cool, but not so cool when you have to ride a bike in the stuff... Oh well!

Well, I love Elder Peterson! Once again lucked out! Since he's younger, I can see a lot of areas for improvement, and I hope I can help him out. However, he has already helped me out urging me to talk to everyone, and I've seen more improvement for myself than anything! I feel blessed to have him as a companion, and I feel like we will learn a lot from each other. He actually reminds me of David from time to time haha.

Yeah, Elder Holland’s talk was incredible, because of the poetic alliteration and the passion he puts behind it, but mostly because of the desire he has to share the truth.

Well, when I get back I want to see Uncle "Mr. Clean" and his family and see how they're doing. Well, as far as Vikings go, if I ever get sent to a certain area, I would live with a member who works VERY closely with the players, and I would be able to hook you up with jerseys and all sorts of stuff, so if you pray hard enough...

Yikes, Dad! A cancer?! That's a little shocking... Glad to hear you're okay though. So to answer your questions: I actually like being a district leader. It's fun teaching, I love it! I am actually given the topics from President Howell, so I never struggle with that. I like being a leader. I'm trying to serve and to stay humble, so I don't get my ego inflated, cause then I'll have cause to be humbled! But being a district leader has taught me more how to just serve and get to work. I actually hope I have the opportunity to further teach missionaries and to lead. Actually, the mission provides Book of Mormons for us. Of course, I'd love for you to send one with your testimony in it though!

Hahaha! Oh my gosh mom, you talk with Elder Daily's mom, Elder Vaughn's mom, and some lady that's in my ward right now?!?! I just think it's funny! I love Elder Vaughn though, he's a great guy!

As far as missionary work though, it was really slow this week. We went out and tried to talk to a lot of people. This week just didn't end up being super productive, well, that I can see. Seeds are always being planted. We looked in our area book and found that we have no potentials in a big chunk of town, so it looks like we'll be doing a lot of tracting there! I'm keeping my chin up and working hard. There are few things I find as enjoyable as coming in the apartment at night and barely being able to make it through planning cause I'm so tired. That usually is a signal to me that I have worked hard that day, plus I get some good sleep too, so there are definite perks to working your butt off.

Elder Peterson and I are just going to be working as hard as we can, and as we do that, the Lord will trust us with those he has prepared. So that’s what we'll do work and work and work. It’ll be rough but very worth it.

The only things I need from you is I need to know when people's birthdays are, cause I can't remember... I know, I'm a terrible son/brother! Also see if you can get ahold of a DVD for me called "By Small and Simple Means." I believe it was made by a mission in California, about sharing the gospel. It’s good.

With love,
ELDER LOGAN BROOKS

Here is a picture of me having fun with the other elders and fake moustaches!!
