Well, it took me 20 minutes just to get on this stupid computer to email!!! This computer is so slow, I was pretty frustrated. Sounds like things are going really well!! Wow mom, finally going to get the braces off, huh? That's exiting! I'm lucky I never had to have those things!
That's awesome that you got some conference tickets!! I remember the one time we got to go to priesthood session, and then we got put into an overflow... That was LAME.
Well, I'm really glad for Elder Grondel! I knew that move would be good!!! Hopefully I'll see him again soon!
That is so awesome about the Idaho trip and everyone going to the temple! (Dan was able to go with his Mom as his sister’s daughter went through the temple.) I hope I get to serve in an area where I live closer to the temple, cause it's still a little ways away to go and still get everything done on P-day. Yeah, I love the temple, I can't wait to go again. One thing I realized about the gospel is that it's all about missionary work. Joseph Smith said that after all is said and done, the most important thing is to preach the gospel. The temple is a great way to do that! That's what proxy work is! Missionary work!
So let’s see, Elder Wardle is from a small town of 200, Fillmore Utah, he is a U of U fan, his dad is a farmer contractor, and he has been out for about two and a half months. Elder Wardle and I get along just fine. We have our differences from growing up in very different places and circumstances, but we get along like good friends. Elder Wardle is a pro at missionary work. What a guy! I always laugh at his sayings though, like "Git 'er done," or "I'm plum tired." I too have been lucky with my companions like Weston.
Well, as far as the weather goes, summer finally hit, and it's been in the 80's all week, and it hasn't been enjoyable. This humidity is terrible! The air is so thick, ugh, I'd never live here, and to be quite honest, I miss the desert now! Dry heat is where it's at! Some of the trees are turning, but it's like one out of every 50 trees. There are some leaves that are falling, but "fall" hasn't really started yet, probably cause the weather up here is so whack.
Well, my assignment is going well! Nothing too new about it, and it's really not different being the senior comp. Haha! I guess that is a true saying, it's lonely on the top. It's alright though.
So my spiritual experience for the week is that Elder Wardle and I went through the area book and called a bunch of potentials to at least clean out the area book a little. I called this one lady Joy, and got talking to her, and she asked me if someone told me to call her or if I just called out of the blue. So I told her the truth, I called her out of the blue! She laughed and said, "You know, I don't believe in coincidences. My Mormon friend that lives out in Utah was just telling me I should call you guys so we could talk or say some prayers for me or something. And then I saw you guys riding your bikes, and I almost pulled you over to talk to you, but I didn't. So, I guess you just called me!" This Joy lady is way nice, and sounds very set to talk with us... tomorrow actually! I'm WAY exited! I am hoping that she falls into the family ward category, cause all the potentials and investigators we seem to find, we can't teach, because they belong to the singles ward, which is the other elders responsibility... I mean, we're on the same team here, but throw me a bone for goodness sakes.
So that's my cool experience for the week! I hope all is well, and get Cameron’s butt on the computer to email me! When he's on his mission he'll understand what it's like...
