Well that’s good, mom and pop, that you can attend church together, guess I never realized what you guys were sacrificing till I really thought about it…
As far as mission life goes though, we went up to Ely Minnesota, and hour drive, on Thursday, making Elder Grondel and I officially the farthest north missionaries in the US! (except maybe Alaska missionaries.) While up there, we tried to stop by some less actives with no luck, and even tracted a few streets. One lady, Leona, let us in and teach her a lesson, but she was pretty old and didn’t want to change, but that’s okay, she is a good person. Elder Grondel and I went contacting in downtown Ely, and the place is a huge tourist trap since it’s so close to the boundary waters. So everyone we talked to on the streets there knew who we were and were either jerks to us or respected us for what we did, but no one really listened to us… haha but there was this group of four or five people that started waving to us! So Elder Grondel and I waved back, and they kept on waving and waving. So when we finally got up to them, they said, “Oh sorry, we were waving to that web cam up there.” Ah man, rejected! Ely was beautiful though, tons of water and green.
On Saturday, we drove about half an hour to Chisholm, and that was really the first time I’ve been discriminated against for being a Mormon. We saw an antique store that looked pretty cool, so we walked inside. The owner was right there and we said hi and asked him how it was going. He responded, “Fantastic. Get out of my store. Now. This is a business, you can’t proselyte in here, get out!” So we told him we were just looking around but he just turned on us again and said, “I don’t care, get out right now!” I just laughed because I don’t understand how people can be so upset about us as missionaries or anything for that matter. I feel bad for that guy, cause I really think it takes great effort to be that angry and miserable.
Hmm… I almost broke every bone in my body that day too. We knocked on this door and there were like flies everywhere! No one answered, and I looked down through the floorboards of their porch and there was this huge wasp nest right under my feet! They were wasps flying around! So I turned around to go down the steps, and missed a step which almost sent me hurtling down the 10-12 concrete steps. Somehow I managed to avoid falling or twisting an ankle as I staggered and twisted down the steps, almost falling on my face several times. Haha we had a good laugh about it though! No stings, no bruises, it’s all good!
So we’re still teaching everyone. We’ll see the Glissmans this Sunday, we’re hoping for an excellent lesson. Hopefully we can find more people to teach, we’re really working hard, and doing a lot of tracting. A lot.

So uh, yeah! To explain the pictures though, one picture is me in my SWEET ten dollar goodwill suit, brown three piece, it’s awesome.

The next one is a sunset, sort-of, we were a little late.

The others are Elder Whitehead, Grondel and I together at Zone Conference,

and the other one is me standing in front of a street we found out in the middle of nowhere! Moroni Point, who would have thought?!

And Chisholm was the hometown of the main character in Field of Dreams or whatever.
So that’s about it for me, hope you guys are doing good! And thanks for the package! And goodness sakes, you had to send more food?!?! I’m trying to maintain a healthy weight right now, and the sweets aint helpin’! Oh yeah, and dad, any news on my watch pin?
Love you all,
ELDER LOGAN BROOKS
