Still Green

Hey!!!

So Maddie, looks like you are about to have some fun up at camp! Sounds like loads of fun! And going to grandpa and grandmas again?! Sweet! Make sure you enjoy every minute of your life, it goes by so fast! I'm almost 20 for goodness sakes! Well if you're bored, pick up the guitar!(not my black one though) just start looking at some books, it's hard, but that's how I started! Thanks for the letter too, I love mail! Okay, well I'll talk to you soon hopefully! Stay out of trouble okay? ;)

Dude Cameron!!! Man, it sounds like you had loads of fun in Ohio! That’s pretty crazy!!! Trust me though, I know ALL about the bugs... Huge, and in NO small amount. Right before the sun sets, all the mosquitoes come out and gees, they are EVERYWHERE!! It’s like walking through a mist! I started to feel claustrophobic one day cause there were so many around me!!!

Famous Dave’s eh?? Oh yeah, that is SO good!!! We had one down in Duluth, but I never got to go... :( Oh man, I really wish I was there with ya! Dude, but talking about so much food... There was one day that Elder Rush and I went to this China Buffet downtown for district meeting, and I ate so much that I walked out feeling disgusted with myself :( but THEN, that night, these members picked us up for dinner and said "Hey elders! Where do you wanna eat? We were thinking China Buffet!" Elder Rush and I just looked at each other and said sure... gees I was disgusted with myself! It wouldn't be so bad if I could exercise often, but running every morning just isn't cutting it I guess... I only get 30 mins to work out, and I don't run the whole time.

The PT cruiser sounds a lot like the car we drive up here, no guts! Speaking of cars, how is our car doing? Keeping it in working order? Oh, and tell me about that night of playing cops and Robbers with Nate and Danny. Nate said it was pretty epic!To the rest of the family....So this week had been SUPER slow... :( Still nothing with Jesse. We teach him lessons, but again, we can't sit here and hold his hand. He has to come to church and read and pray on his own, which he isn't doing much of...

The weather here is down in the fifties... Short sleeve weather. No seriously though, it IS short sleeve weather! I have to keep checking the calendar to make sure it's June still and not January or something! Oh man, so beautiful though!! All the lilac trees are blooming all over town, along with the all the green and the different colored blossoming trees! It’s very beautiful here! Smells so good too!

Wow!!! Alex Peterson?!?! No WAY! that's pretty crazy! I'd send him a letter, but I don't know how the pouch system works, weren't you going to tell me how mom? And did Jay's letter get sent to him? What about Weston’s? But yeah, that's great to hear! Good to know he's doing some missionary work in the family! Good for him!

Lately, Elder Rush and I talked to this guy that is a Born again Christian. The born agains believe that all you have to do to be saved is accept Jesus as your savior, and poof! You’re saved. Every run in I've had with them weren't the best. This particular man was giving us beef because "we didn't believe in the same Jesus as the Bible because the Jesus in the Bible is God the Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost in one personage." We told him everything that we believed and backed it up with some scriptures from the Bible, it was very nonconfrontational. There are several accounts of Jesus talking with the Father, and if he was one person, then he's talking to himself. Or there is the account of Jesus' baptism with all three members of the Godhead present, but all clearly separate. He still wouldn't budge, though he was obviously stumped. We testified of the Book of Mormon and how he could know whether it was true or not just by reading and praying. He wouldn't read it. So we asked him if he would pray, because if he did and God said that it wasn't true, then he wouldn't lose anything. But if it WAS true, there IS more truth and Jesus' church is here again! But he refused to pray, now claiming that he knew from God that our church was wrong. It saddened me... I am praying everyday for more charity, more love for my fellow men, that I might not see them as numbers or quotas, or just as people, but my brothers and sisters, God's Children, and try to feel more welfare for their souls.

I'm definitely still a greenie, but I'm really working hard at learning, growing, and becoming more like Christ so that people may see that "engraven in my countenance" at least. This gospel has made me so happy. It is such a huge blessing that I have had, to be born into it. Hopefully God will shape me and continue to mold me into what he needs, to do His work here among the children of men.

Please pray that God may soften some hearts here. Many people are, in the sense, "stiffnecked" and won't really listen to us... Elder Rush and I are really going to try to do even better this week. I love you all, talk to you soon!
