Hola Ninos!! Me llamo es Matt Foley! Yo soy un MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER! Yo tengo trecenta y cinco anos! Yo tengo tres divorciados! Y yo vivo en un VAN CERCA DE UN RIO!!!! Okay, just thought I’d throw that in for fun. Everything is going well!! It’s finally breached the 70’s this week, and it feels pretty toasty if it ever hits the eighties!! Yes, I did receive the package, Thank you!! :) I just forgot to tell you last week.Oh Brigham, what a goofy kid, haha.
I knew Cam would make a good primary teacher, he’s always been really good with the kids. Good job Cam! I’m kinda sad cause I realized the other day that I won’t see you for 3 years!!! :( Well that’s good to hear about Maddie!! Gees she looks like she’s done a lot of growing up! I’ll be back just in time to scare off all the potential daters though. ;) Oh Brigham, what a goofy kid, haha.
So the work is going okay here… We just had Zone conference on Friday, which is always uplifting and motivating, and very needed. It really helps me recharge. Elder Rush and I decided we really need to buckle down harder, because we believe there is work to do in this area! So there is a new plan implemented on this mission, coming straight from Elder Perry himself!! Now every companionship has to teach twenty lessons a week, but if the missionaries can only get say three, then it’s the wards responsibility to pick up the other seventeen. Elder Perry wants us to be teaching so much that we won’t have time to go tract, which the very thought brought tears to my eyes haha! Not really, but man teaching is SOOO much better than tracting. Tracting only has a 2% success rate, which is terrible. So I’m really looking forward to this next transfer! Well I’ll be with Elder Rush until the beginning of July at least. Transfers aren’t for another couple of weeks.
At Zone Conference though, I saw Elder Whitehead there (he came out with me)! Man I was so stoked to see someone from my district! So we got to catch up and everything! Oh, and when did the gospel first come into our ancestry? People ask me how far my membership goes, and I don’t know…
We taught this one lady, Diana Drift, on Wednesday. She was definitely touched by the spirit as we taught about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. She is having a hard time though, she has no self esteem, and has lots of family problems. She is single, and just kicked out her abusive husband, and blames a lot of things on her self… So we’re working with her.
Bad news though… It’s make or break time for the Jensens. We got blown off last night, and Elder Rush and I think it’s time to drop them. They aren’t doing anything we ask them to. I really don’t want to, but it’s necessary. Hopefully in the future, some missionaries can pick them up. Other than that, actually Reanne and Dale, these two people we’ve been talking to a little, came to church yesterday! Oh man, it was SO good to actually see some fruit from my labor! We hope we can turn that into something! I just hope Elder Rush and I can get on the same page as far as desire to work. I feel like I have to push him a little but maybe I’m just being pushy…
Brigham trying to blow out the light! Oh man, that kid cracks me up! So yes, I did use my card a couple times. I bought a rainproof Columbia jacket, and I lost my dang bike helmet and had to buy a new one, which frustrated me greatly. I try and use the card sparingly; I still have a lot of the cash you gave me.Hope all is well though!
Love you all,
ELDER BROOKS
