Happy Father's Day

Hey hey hey! HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!!!!!!! Sorry though, I guess mom is only special enough for a call... ;) Sorry paps, I don't have much to give being pretty much flat broke as an Elder. Maybe just blessings for you guys, being out here.

Haha, you liked the Matt Foley Quote huh? Yeah Elder Rush knew it, so he told me, that's how I know. But yeah catching up with Elder Whitehead was really good! He said that our whole MTC district was at the mission home for transfers all except for me!!

So it's basically finally summer up here, it's dang hot! The humidity is killer, there is no such thing as evaporation... this whole place is a sauna... and it's only in the 80's!

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love Elder Rush to death, he's a good example to me, and has quite the knowledge of the gospel and religion in general. We'll be doing better this week, I'm doing what I can to push him...This week was rock bottom though. Only one lesson a week, and we only have 1 investigator... :( I'm not happy, but success will come. Oh, and I really enjoy the scripture Helaman 10:3-5! Check it out.

As for the Jensens though, I know what you mean. I believe that they will feel a difference when we're gone, and some other Elders can pick them up down the road. That's just how it works sometimes.

Wow, I'm pretty bummed that I missed David's talk... I bet it was pretty dang good! And I sent him another letter, so by all means, he should have gotten it by now! But that's funny about the commandments, David's always been clever like that. Tell him I wish him good luck and hope to hear from him soon!!!

Well don't worry, I'm much more outspoken now then I ever have been, or at least I feel like I am. But I feel good, and much more confident in my ability to teach and just talk to people. I want to tell you something I learned about prayer though.

I read in this book how this guy was praying, trying to change himself to be better. One word he used often was "will." As I prayed that night, I changed all the words "might" into "will." I told the Lord the things I "will" do to try and be better and not that we "might" have success or "might" be better servants to him. I found a different power in my prayers since then. Looking back on my pleas to be able to better converse with people, I have found that I have been given MANY opportunities to better myself. Only after changing my attitude and prayer, did I see and TAKE those opportunities for what they were, chances to better myself, and now I've seen growth. I have a growing testimony of faith and what faith really means, to do everything in our power to fulfill our prayer, and God will provide the rest because we always seem to fall short...

Well I very much have to agree with that statement. There IS real power in listening. It's JUST as important as teaching, if not more. I'm trying to be a better listener and to concentrate on what people are saying.

Whoa! Glad to hear gramps is okay! Send my love! Well they wrote me about a week or so ago, tell them thank you for the letter of encouragement!

Well, we go up to Bishop Given's house every Wednesday night for dinner, and they have a 14 year old boy with Downs, oh man, he cracks me up so bad!! Sometimes he puts on an eyepatch and a sailor hat and runs around being a pirate, or sometimes he has magic tricks to show us, oh man, it’d crack you up so bad! But I forgot, what are bee-ups??

So again, I'm really exited for David, can't wait to hear his stories from his mission! I miss that guy! And that's way awesome for Chad, what a stud. I need to write him a letter. Can I get an address?

Hope everything is going well! Tell Cam to stay out of trouble and is he reading everyday???
So anyways, I gotta go!

  1. Teresa, what a wonderful, testimony filled letter. Logan is truely being a missionary in all things -even his letters. Thanks for sharing. Blinda

  2. Logan, this is David! Just by the way, the guy that spoke after me on the day I gave my talk totally made up those two things he said about me. He sure had me fooled though! The first one was something I surely though I would have said!

And I'm sending your letter tonight! :P
