Hello!
Everything is going great!!! We played some basketball with Jesse yesterday, just for an hour. It was good for everybody because it helped him get his mind off of smoking and I can always use the exercise... We'll be biking soon though, the weather has been pretty good, so that'll definitely help. :) But yeah, Jesse looks like he's real determined. He knows what’s right, and he's going for it. Such an awesome guy. He defends the church to anyone who slanders it, and he's not even a member.... yet. ;)
But let's see... So on Tuesday, we went on exchanges with the Grand Rapids Elders, Elder Nowers, and Elder Anderson, who came out the same time as I did, though I never saw him in the MTC. I went with Elder Anderson, and we went and tracted this street in Gilbert. It was sprinkling a little bit, but all of a sudden, it turned into a torrential downpour! We ran up the street to the car as fast as we could, but it was 3 or 4 blocks away, uphill, in the rain, and there was a small river now running down the road from the rain, so you could say we ran upstream as well! I got totally drenched, not having any rain proof gear to speak of, but oh well! Well that's good that you have been communicating [with Elder Rush's mom]! Elder Rush is a great guy, I think we will have some good success, given that we work our hind ends off!
Recently there was a new stake set up in MN!!! It is so cool to know that the church is growing!! But anyhow, our bishop got called to be the new stake president since the old one is getting absorbed into the new stake.
So Cameron, what a stud muffin! I liked the creativeness on how you asked! I'm still waiting for your letter telling me how everything went! Yes, I got to see the pictures you sent! I enjoyed them! I thought it was funny that they had Alexis stand behind Cameron cause she's so dang tall haha! Cameron looked great, especially since he didn't have to stand in the shadow of his very handsome older brother! :P Naw, just kidding, but he did look very shnazzy! And don't be lazy turning in those hours! I know that's extremely hypocritical of me to say, but it feels so good to just get something done! Write me that letter before you do the hours though.
Well that sounds great for Brigham! And for you too! Life skills, eh? Well make sure you give Brig my loves! There is a kid, Paul Givens up here who has Downs, but I've only seen him once on Sunday.
(Dad, Mom & Madison are giving talks in church this month.) Well that's fun that you get to write 2 talks! Thanks for all the help you gave me writing all mine, by the way. Elder Bednar is one of my favorites though for sure! (Cameron forgot he had a talk in Sacrament Meeting and 30 minutes before it started, we pulled an old talk of Logan's off the computer!) And for goodness sakes Cameron, you owe me so much for my talks!!! Next time, I'm suing for plagiarism! Oh well, you'll have to prepare the lessons a lot now that you're a primary teacher! Okay, seriously, PREPARE THE LESSONS. The kids are much more attentive, (usually) if you know what you're teaching and how you're going to do it. Coloring activities never hurt... And you're lucky that you get to go to Ohio!! (Cameron is going to Cedar Point to an awesome amusement park with Cameron Munden and his family in June.) That sounds like a lot of fun! You 2 Camerons don’t get into trouble though!
So it was 70 degrees the other day, and I was sweating! It felt soo hot! I guess you kinda get acclimated to the weather, cause I love 50 degrees, that's short sleeve weather! One of the Elders that I lived with in Duluth said “Elder Brooks, I've been meaning to tell you, it looks like you seem to be losing a little bit of your jaw line..." Man, I can't believe it... I'm so glad I'm getting on bikes soon. It's not like I eat like crazy, it's just that I don't get the exercise I used to. Oh well, such is life. I busted a stair that I stood on, luckily no one lived in that house, but breaking the stair sure didn't make me feel any better about my weight, haha! But like I said, it's not really a big deal, I'm still under 195 and I can still grab the basketball rim, so.... yeah!
Okay momma, so I have a project for you! I would like to get a design on how to make a tie! I thought it would be cool how to learn how to make one, so I was wondering if you get your hands on the blueprints or the design or whatever they're called. Well that's good that you are busy, cause life would be so boring if we weren't busy. I'm sorry you miss me, you know I miss ya too, but wow three months have already gone by! I'll be back soon enough, only to leave the nest soon again. Well, I love you momma, you know I do!
So about the call on Sunday. . . I will call about 15 after 2 my time, 12 your time!! And is there anything you'd like for Mothers Day, Mother?
Love you all,
ELDER LOGAN BROOKS
