Today was the best Mother's Day a mom could have . . . getting a phone call from your missionary son is the best gift! We all sat together as a family and listened and asked questions. He sounds so happy and loves serving the Lord. It is very exciting to hear the growth of his testimony and how much he loves the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has such a desire to share it with others. He is truly immersed in service to the Lord. His hardest challenge has been talking to people. He has always struggled with that and serving a mission has helped him to find a way to do it, even though he has to step out of his comfort zone. It is becoming easier for him.
He is very lucky to be living in, what some of his other friends serving missions is foreign countries may say, luxury. His apartment is equipped with a treadmill, a garage, and a washer and dryer! He is also very much enjoying his companion, Elder Rush.
We were able to talk for an hour. It was great to hear his voice and know that he is loving what he is doing, which gives a mom (and her family) great comfort.
