I got the package, thank you so much for that! I have not sent the memory card to you yet, I am waiting to take a few more pictures, cause Elder Tueller and I figured out that we don’t have any pictures of each other, or together for that matter. And yes, absolutely I want a clicker, counter, whatever you call it. We are supposed to keep track of how many people we come in contact with, so when I talk to people, I can just click it in my pocket afterwards. It should be pretty small right??
Anyways, missionary life is GREAT!! On Monday, Elder Tueller and I went on exchanges with the Ashland Elders. So we drove up there and I went with Elder Leavitt, from Mesa AZ! He's a real cool guy, he rode the bus up with me my first day. All day we just tracted in the rain, it wasn’t too bad.
It's still pretty cold here; it keeps having like 20 degree temperature swings from warm to cold and then back. Spring doesn't really exist here. Unfortunately, most Elders tell me I won’t have much use for a coat as big as the one you got me...
Our investigators are coming along nicely. Barri just needs to quit smoking and she'll be ready for baptism! Rick Seaborg, I think I've told you about him, he just needs to go over the lessons again, and deal with a couple word of wisdom issues and he'll be golden! Other than that, I didn’t write in my journal much this week because it was a little hectic...
I have to say that I absolutely love the ward up here. Not necessarily people in general, but I love the ward. There are about 60 active members and about 120 inactive. The active members though are very solid and faithfully serve in their calling, or even callings. They are trying very hard to become more involved in missionary work, giving us people to teach and everything. They are such good people! They inspire me to come back home and have all the stakes in AZ "shake off the dust!" (no offense intended on those that are trying.) There is just so much work to be done and if every ward did at least SOME missionary work, the church would grow at an unprecedented rate, I'm sure! Sorry though, I don’t want to sound self righteous, I'm just excited about the work. It's crazy because Duluth isn't THAT big, and I talk to about 60 people a day, (because we have appointments and whatnot) and everyday I never talk to the same person!
That’s pretty cool what Weston is doing! It sounds like the Dominican Republic is very fast paced missionary work!
As far as what I've been studying, I've just been studying simple doctrine to try and help our investigators progress. When I get off my mission, I plan on keeping that scripture study in my schedule. It's amazing how the Lord helps me keep focused and my mind clear when I do. I am also memorizing a scripture a day! It’s tough, but wow my memory has improved a lot already! Maybe I'll be able to remember directions soon.... ;)
Everyday my testimony grows. It is always growing, and I thank the Lord everyday for my blessings, and even more for my weaknesses and my trials, for those are more blessings than the good things. He is molding me into someone better. This is the greatest blessing of my life to be on a mission! I cannot name all of the things I have been blessed with, but I love this work, and I know Heavenly Father is with Elder Tueller and I always as we strive to live the way He would have us live. I thought I was happy when I was leaving for my mission, and now that is just a small amount compared to what I feel now. I know without a shadow of a doubt that our Savior lives and that I am trying to do as he would do, say what he would say, and go where He would go. I am I am trying to get to the point where most of my thoughts are turned to God. I understand why Ammon said that he does not "boast in his own strength, but in God." I am experiencing that Joy, and I want everyone to feel what I am feeling. I hope all is well.
With love,
ELDER LOGAN BROOKS

Teresa, you can't read this letter without seeing Logan's growth-in Christ. He is able to truly express himself and is his feelings. I love the strenght and excitment and testimony that he has - it's infectious! Your heart must be expanding out of your chest with pride. Thanks for sharing Blinda
